The Move Ascension Program is a long-term road improvement plan created to make travel safer and easier across Ascension Parish. Through projects like new roundabouts, road widening, and drainage upgrades, Move Ascension aims to reduce congestion and improve daily travel for residents, businesses, and visitors.

PR 929 and PR 930 Roundabout
Ascension Parish is starting work on a new roundabout at PR 929 and PR 930 as part of the Move Ascension Program. Construction begins today, Monday, October 20, and will continue until Spring 2026.
Crews will be paving roads, adding curbs, fixing drainage, leveling the ground, and painting new road lines.
This project will make driving safer and traffic smoother for people in Prairieville and nearby areas. Drivers are asked to slow down, stay alert, and watch for workers while passing through the construction zone.
Detour and Reroute
Because of the new roundabout construction at PR 929 and PR 930, some roads in the area will have lane closures and limited access during the project.
To keep traffic moving safely, drivers can use the following detour routes:
- If you are driving on PR 929 (Parker Road):
- Turn onto LA 931 (Weber City Road) and follow it to PR 930 (Joe Sevario Road) to reach your destination.
- If you are driving on PR 930 (Joe Sevario Road):
- Use LA 933 (Roddy Road) and connect back to PR 929 to avoid the construction zone.

- PR 930 north of PR 929
Detour Routes
Drivers should use these alternate routes to avoid delays:

LA 44 and LA 941 Roundabout
The roundabout at LA 44 and LA 941 is now open and fully working. Drivers should use it like any standard roundabout by slowing down and yielding to traffic already in the circle. Work continues on a Louisiana DOTD road project at LA 44 and LA 941 (Brittany Tower Road). The project includes a new roundabout and wider road sections along LA 44 between the Bayou Conway Bridge and the Panama Canal Bridge.
Traffic Changes on LA 44:
- LA 44 now has four lanes between the Interstate and the Conway roundabout.
- LA 44 will stay at two lanes between the Conway roundabout and the Panama Canal Bridge during this phase.
- A new median curb limits left turns between West Edenborne Parkway and the Panama Canal Bridge.
- Drivers needing to turn left should use the Conway roundabout, the LA 941 roundabout, or the u-turn south of the LA 941 roundabout.
